Blind Bertie is an apothecary in the city of Malkara. She has both a legal apothecary shop and side business of dubious legality. She is not actually blind. Her nickname comes from the way in which she carries on the shadier side of her business. Those in the know may slip a request for an illicit substance into a hidden slot in an alley behind her shop. She will assess the request and if she wants to fulfill it, she will slip back the paper with the cost and the time of delivery. This way she can honestly claim that she didn't see who bought what.
