The Sisterhood exists in various forms all across Temir, spanning all races. The Sisterhood believe their dreams to be glimpses of the future, often shown indirectly through symbols and metaphor. The Sisters mark themselves on the left side of their neck with a tattoo depicting an eye surrounded by 6 stars.
Females selected for initiation are gathered, and drink a serum called Dreamscale, made through combination of Oil of Moonseed, Bloodroot, Black Crocus, and Nightbloom. Drinking it gives them vivid and wild dreams, and the ability to remember them in detail. Brewing the serum takes 11 days, and must be consumed within 2 weeks of brewing. Use of the serum causes the blood to thin and travel rapidly through the body. Extended use of Dreamscale has lead many Sisters to begin dreaming while they are awake, generating a world made half of dreams, and half of reality. In absence of Dreamscale, the Sister’s skin begins to blister, she becomes distraught, easily agitated, and more often than not, paranoid.
The Sisterhood remains a very tight-knit community, remaining in touch with each other through messengers and letters. Once every few years, a meeting is held in Isard, where the Sisters gather and perform the sacred ritual of tattooing the newest members, and gather to consume large amounts of Dreamscale. They share their visions with one another, and come to a consensus about the wishes of their deity, Nkiru.
The Sisterhood hold no buildings devoted to their cause. They have fragmented themselves into smaller groups, typically six or less Sisters living together. Rarely do Sisters live on their own, for the material gathering and brewing of Dreamscale would be far too time-consuming. While most keep a low profile, usually working as fortune tellers using tarot cards, crystal balls, séances, and other skills to earn their wages, two Sisters have risen to the public eye:
Cilinda Strongbreeze – An Elf from the forests of Roakewood, Cilinda is the oldest living member of the Sisterhood of the Eternal Stars. She currently lives in Isard, and helps to keep track and stay in contact with Sisters outside of the city, as well as plan the Sisterhood meet-up every few years. While most Sisters choose to live in seclusion from most of society, Cilinda takes to the streets and announces her dreams to the rest of Isard. While this does bring criticism from non-believers, it also heightens enthusiasm for interested females, and brings more members to the Sisterhood.
Annice Grayson – An aide to the second in command of the Therengrad Spellbinder’s Ring library, Piotr Krilovich, Annice leaves behind the typically mundane life of the Sisterhood to live amongst wizards. While having little magic powers of her own, Annice provides Piotr with the interpretation of her dreams, which he uses towards his own personal and private ends. While not outspoken about the Sisters like Cilinda, Annice has a habit of being seen along side members of the Spellbinder’s Ring at the right moments, increasing awareness of the Sisterhood without really doing anything.
The Sisterhood worship the god Nkiru, believing that the world is all a dream in the mind of their deity. Through their visions, they can foresee what Nkiru is dreaming, and direct their actions to fulfilling their god’s wishes. Good, evil, right, wrong: none of these concepts hold weight to the Sisters anymore; they are lead by what they dream.
