The troop returned to Malkhara to find Carlos, Juan and civilization.

Unfortunately, Carlos had decided to go get tortured somewhere in the docks, which quite inconvenienced the bunch, as this meant extra detours, bribes and general unpleasantness. On the plus side, Eugene found himself a new weapon 'Dragonbane', said to have helped slayed the last dragon. Other magic properties of the sword may or may not include the ability to dig holes at increased speed.

With the help of the harbor master, Gregory McCloud and Commodore Trilani, Carlos was eventually located in an abandoned warehouse guarded by Bug Bear and Goblins. and liberated from his jailers for the exorbitant amount of 6 gold pieces.

To forget the events of the night, the group decide to go drinking at the Purple Troll, a local watering hole, named after the almost-dead troll held in the rafters, where they are soon joined by Ronaldo, JEFF's manager.

After many drinks, plans for an upcoming JEFF performance to help fill the caravan's coffers are drafted with the help of Ronaldo. After many more drinks, they each separate for the night. This is when Torteas decide it would be a good idea to apply for another cult whose recruiting officer is a tenured professor at his old place of employment.

On the second day, Muse decided to get herself some fancy-schmancy tie-die armor for the most price of 10 gold pieces. Baller!

Torteas goes on a second interview for the new cult where he is led to believe magic may not be dead after all. He also managed to steal a caltrop.

Gene decides to go persuade Carlos to promote Torteas and Muse to the 'spiritual level' of the cult. Indefinitely. Muse is now proclaimed leader of her own unit.

The JEFF concert takes place at the Bucket, with "Antidote" as an open act. Despite his obvious lack of qualifications, Torteas could not get the part since he was busy being operated on by a dentist moonlighting as a transplant surgeon.

Despite clear instructions to charge much moolah for tickets, it appears the JEFF crowd is quite poor. Which is probably why they deserved to have their dream crushed by a recording of JEFF crapping on them and have a burning ceiling fall on them. Despite Ronaldo's brilliant plan to purge JEFF's fan base from the bottom, Eugene and Muse managed to clear a path through the rubble and save most of the penniless fans.

They eventually all rejoin at the inn, where JEFF convinces the band to head to the South Suburbs, or any other suburbs that are not submerged to try and 'find his music again for the big comeback'. The disguise may be part of the discovery process, or most likely, the hiding because I fear for my life since everyone hates me now process.

We also learn that magic items may be re-awakened temporarily with blood.
