The Quest
In a search for the perfect cup of tea, Boris marshals the team to search for the Sorcerous Saucer, said to have been shielded from the Unraveling my a great sentinel, and capable of filling even the largest china with piping hot tea. Setting out in the dead of winter, the quintet journeyed through fierce snows in search of the Lotus mystic, following a map Boris had drawn on a bar napkin. After nearly losing Cup and Boris to the biting cold, they sought shelter in the Axevale waystation, slumbering to the poorly tuned chanting of Monter Humter.
The second leg of their adventure led them to the somewhat scatterbrained Lotus Eye Mystic, the only inhabitant of a grove filled with watchful arcane flowers, a thousand eyes fixed on past, present, and future. As the mystic doled out inexplicable wisdom and disconnected facts in a clearly divinely inspired fugue, Boris ad Fenris managed to negotiate directions to the sentinel ad the saucer, and under the guidance of Cake, led the group north, looking for a waterfall.
Tragedy struck, ice giving way as Lex plummeted off the edge of the waterfall, held up only by Fitzwilliam's cunning rope and the lycanthropine might of Fenris. Dangling from tfhe cliff face, they discerned that the frozen waterfall was a giant stone sentinel, standing silent at the head of the river, its arms bridging the flow and creating the cliff. Finding it long ago decapitated by the eroding stream, the party descended into the neck, discovering a series of chambers covered in ancient runs and controls. The saucer lay below.
Faced with a collapsed floor leading directly to the junkular region of the sentinel, Boris opted to float down with his sorcery, while the freeclimbing siblings hurtled down after. Curious Fenris descended an access ladder as Fitzwilliam III made the leap in a feat of rope-based aerobatics. As they reached the bottom, the pleasant humming of the Eidolon guarding the artifact ceased, its twin spirit blades flaring to life...
What happened next is a tale for the bards, as the pub closed and the game ended.
