Keys lock up things. They keep things apart, and in most cases that isn’t such a dangerous thing. But some keys keep away things like families.
The path to Shoreline was fun. A chest came to life and we had to beat it into submission! Not too many mimics carried around on ships – one snap of a sailor would send those boxes to sea far before they’d have the chance to strike. I knocked over the wagon by accident and it caused things to topple over everywhere. My party’s spry – surprisingly so.…
Not too many pups where I’m from. Fighting rings on occasion. Strays to feed scraps and then throw around some bound twine. The occasional bigger one’d be shipped to the wizards. J can become a dog sometimes – bigger than me she is! She tackled me a year ago and in bed I can still feel it in my back. I need to figure out how to turn her into a dog again – I want to pet her as one. Dogs are the cutest thing!
I don't stand much for dragons, on the other hand. Thinking of dogs gets me thinking of…
In Tachyros and Narcell’us seems to be feeling better today. She was awake with the party and tending to our accounts, chatting with Carnation. The Bird Girl had a new buckle – a shiny thing – that they were excited to chat about. How are these two friends? Laughing and joking at the bottom of a hole in the ground with flotsam and jetsam in the drinking water? Been thinking about that, especially after what happened with the caravan. Got some old memories splashing around in my noggin. Reminds…
The first pomegranate I had was at the port in Volos when I was half my mom’s height. My friend Kengar swiped a couple from one of the fat merchants lining the streets. Took us a while to open – he had a knife that he still didn’t know how to use. We were small and stupid and hungry. I don’t even remember how long it took to crack that stupid fruit open. Inside was something beautiful - little red stars that popped in your mouth. I miss those times and Kengar too. He grew up to be something I’m…
Always tether. Always always tether. Sea and the sky are the same in that way – might look a bit different but they’re alike in that way. She sunk and crashed to the ground and all I could do was watch.
Reminded me of Kelvin. Swirl was rough that day – knocked us clean out of bed that morn. He ran out of the galley – bare as the day he was born. Had a nice bum. Kind of hard to rally the crew when the world is being toppled around you – heroics don’t get you much ahead. Had to secure the…
Been away from Theringrad for a few days now. Away now from squabbling men and women with the lot throwing their coin as swiftly as their magic spells. It’s a little bit like home actually – haves and have-nots all around and nothing in-between. Don’t like dealing with the haves so I’ve been watching them. Setting my sails to catch the breeze.
Dorian and Narcell’us secured some jobs with the wizarding folk – doing a job for a minotaur illusionist now. Name’s Iskandar. Pay’s too good. You’d be…
Summer campaign's done. Was a lot of fights and good pacing by the commanding unit. But we lost some good men along the way. What do we do now? Need to make ends meet and the others have plans. I'm happy to help.
The urbanite's got plans. Frilly sort, the kind that speaks haughty words and backs them with coin and not actions. Surprised me though - man's good with a bow. Will be handy. He calls himself Dorian Keene. Who says their last name more than once to a friend?
Avian's afeared by me,…
