We serve this dish every New Year's Eve at the Tater Forge. This year, I made a small addition that I think is absolutely delicious. If you are less adventurous, feel free to omit.
- 1 large ham (Ideally, Llewellen’s spiced New Year’s ham from The Salty Hog. But if you’re making this at some other time of year, Llew’s regular ham will do fine)
- 2 pounds starchy potatoes
- 2 cups white sauce (roughly the thickness of light cream), seasoned with plenty of pepper
- Salt to taste
- *optional* 1-2 cups of Derringdo’s Cheese Whales
